The project "You can"

Klaipėda Social and Psychological Assistance Center (KSPPC) has been implementing the project “You Can!” (No. K1-O1-PK-V-167) together with its partners Women Information Center (MIC) and Kaunas Women's Line since November 23, 2020. (KML).

PML, which has been operating for more than 16 years and is administered in Klaipėda, Kaunas and Vilnius, still answers only every second call for emotional support from the applicant. This is due to the insufficient number of volunteers available, the opening hours of the line and the awareness of the line.

The project is funded by:  2014-2021. European Economic Area Financial Mechanism Active Citizens Fund in Lithuania.

The aim of the project:

  • Encourage greater citizen participation in the Voluntary Service of the Helpline for Women (PML)  .

  • Strengthen and improve the capacity of volunteers to provide quality and more accessible emotional support (by telephone, e-mail and online chats) to women and girls who have been victims of gender-based violence and are in a crisis situation.

Project target groups:

  • PML volunteers

  • Individuals who seek help from PML

  • Adult members of society able to engage in voluntary activities.
